Welcoming new users

Postby John » Thu May 04, 2006 9:26 am

Guys, I know we like a bit of banter here, but when someone is new, you must try to be more welcoming. A lot of new people get a bit intimidated and some of the mods have commented on this.

This is an open community. Please take a moment to think about you can make it more inclusive. Try to keep the usual in-jokes and obscure references out of "Hi! I'm new!" type topics. Innapropriate posts are likely to be removed.

Certain individuals have been noted to be worse than others. Persistant abuse will get you a ban.

Thank you

John

Hi Sky, and welcome to the forum.
1. Post in english please.
2. For lessons, try asking in UK Scene or Commercial.

Isn't being nice to strangers seen as a sign of weakness and/or loneliness? Didn't you ever wonder why SkateBitch was just about everyone's first friend in the scene?

Just thought I'd bring this topic back up. Do we still welcome new comers in that way?

Is someone in charge of that specifically?

You mean like "are you a girl, do I know you, do you know me?"

Or were you thinking of something else?
