Birmingham UK

Postby beyound_the_red_sea » Tue Jul 05, 2011 8:54 pm

Hello!

I am a beginner in skating and would like to spend my time off during the summer to improve myself but I don't want to be part of a club.
Does anyone can advise on nice/easy places to skate in Birmingham? Are there any roller rinks? I looked on the Internet but could not find anything.

Thank you

Thank you!
Yes I have sent them an email a few days ago but no reply so far. It is a club isn't it and they do inline skating. I am more into quad skating and cannot commit to be part of a club.
I am looking for some advice on quiet and adaquate places to practice. It would be great if I could find an indoor place as I much prefer...

There's a group of Birmingham based quaddies who come down for the Sunday Stroll quite frequently, I believe they're involved in a skating group up there through the rest of the week but I'm not sure what it's called. Anyone know?

Canon Hill Park in Birmingham is skateable. There used to be (still is?) a group that skated around that park on the weekends. Their website was skatebirmingham.co.uk, but that's now defunct.

There's also Rollerworld in Derby which is a roller rink. If you're thinking of heading north and want to meet up with some other skaters (no pressure on "being part of a club") then there's us in Nottingham.
