Re: Seba Sparkling Wheels

I saw a very short video of someone causing sparks to shoot out from the back of his heel brake when applied. I imagine it would accelerate one's brake wear just a little. Gatorbrake I think. I have one, so many sparks/flame come out of it from a hard heelbrake stop that I nearly burnt my calf musc...

It'll work well at rounding off your bolts.

Ahahahahaaahaaa! That's true enough for boys, but many girls seem to be able to use a roll a day.

Re: Bounce bounce bounce.

Whilst you guys are slaving away at Le Mans, spare a thought for my mate Aunty C who's riding LeJog for charity this week in 6 days, at roughly ~150miles per day average. Crikey!!!

LOL! Buy cheap, and it'll work like cheap too. Oakleys are certainly expensive, but they're also amongst the best sports eyewear.

Oakley M Frame or Radar is my advice, I use them all the time to keep plane tree fluff out of my eyes.

I thought that was a given, and I'm sure that many skaters have raised quite a bit more money than that.

Re: WARNING: London to Brighton

LOL Patrick! More seriously, I don't think we have any reason to be concerned. The only real problem is that as skaters, we're suddenly a different tribe, easily pointed out, misunderstood, and easily complained about. Suck it up and ignore it. The rest is that there are far more numpties on bikes t...

Re: London 2 Brighton 2008

Metcheck - but it's looking more and more like scattered showers, so probably not a big problem. I'm also pulling out though, as I have a temperature. Been hoping that this cold I've got would die away, but it hasn't.

Re: London 2 Brighton 2008

I must admit I'm a bit worried by all this predicted overnight rain. Big downhills and curves and wet roads = lethal on skates, and they aren't going to dry out that much, because much of the route is under trees on country lanes.

Re: London 2 Brighton 2008

I'm planning on doing this ( weather permitting ) ... I like the idea of the hint of a bit of extra pace from the 7:30, Sparky, Q..., Dimitri, etc group. Has a way of meeting up at the start been organised for this group? Yes, meeting at 07.15 at Clapham South Underground, departing 07:25 for the s...

WARNING: London to Brighton

I just thought this might be an appropriate time to remind everyone that this is an advanced skate: not only is it a long way (85km), the surfaces are variable, and sometimes very rough. Then there are the downhills, and the non-stop river of cyclists to deal with. Some of the downhills are enough t...
