Re: Bristol roller hockey?

Ahh, thank you; Bristol uni website, and Google, doesn't seem to have any info on a Bristol uni club. But I shall pursue all the others! Thanks (y)

Bristol roller hockey?

Does anyone know of any roller hockey clubs/groups in or near Bristol, that take beginners? For some reason I'm not having much luck on the WWW, everything seems out of date or a dead end! ...Would really appreciate any up to date info someone on here might have!!

Muchos thanks

Re: Any Bristol skaters?

Proline Skates proline Cheers! (y) Skate Bristol don't have a regular meet up session but do offer lessons if you need them and skate to bath occasionally. They also have links with rollerhockey clubs across the city. There's a new Roller Derby team that's just started (Bristol Harbour Harlots) and...

Any Bristol skaters?

I've been a north surrey commuter to hyde park for the past few years, but come September I'm moving to Bristol.... Just wondered if there's a similar scene anywhere there, or any decent flat surfaces people could recommend to me to get a few miles in for fitness?

Many thanks!

Re: The T-stop

This is all really helpful, thank you :D ...what is 'scooter'ing? Also: roll along in a scissor and lift the heel of the trailing foot ... Because I had a heelbrake (on my right foot) before I've got more used to trailing my left when I scissor, but I think I have been mainly trying to make the T in...

The T-stop

I'd be really grateful for any tips. For some reason I just can't get it... do I need more practice balancing on one foot? Are there any common errors?

Also I can't find any online instruction videos for this particular stop, if anyone knows of any, that'd be awesome :)

1) K2 Exo's, and Salomon STI's with Salomon FSK Frame (is that right Acidedge?!) 2) Seriously for 10 months, on/off for 17 yrs 3) For both: the amount of time it takes to put them on (I approve of your project! ) 4) Exercise that's fun! 5) Look for: good fit, nice design, and suitability for s...

Re: LFNS Friday 7th March

(Just a guestimate I know, but) Do you think he'd still have KO'd with a helmet on? How much can they actually reduce an impact? Hmm. I was involved in a crash on my bike on the London to Brighton a few years ago, & I was wearing a woolly hat under a helmet, still got knocked unconscious and ne...

Re: Today's Stroll call..and LFNS/SS calls in general

Did people actually get upset at the Marshalls? That's so wrong!!! I wasn't there today but I hope you didn't get given any grief. In SW London the weather kept flicking from heavy shower to sunshine in the space of a few minutes, I couldn't believe my eyes! - so unpredictable. For the record I real...

Wow great, thanks so much guys! I did the Sunday Stroll yesterday (first time!) and I did feel more confident going over the cobbles when I was going faster, but yeah it's when you have to slow down slower than you want that it got a bit tricky! (I was surprised at the number of people doing it yday...

getting over 'cobbles'

Any advice for gumbies getting over cobbled bits in the road on street skates?

I kind of mean those bits that are like that strip right at the start of Serpentine Rd, they're only ever a couple of feet long before you're back on tarmac. What would people suggest as a technique?

Hey MeJu! As a bit of a n00b myself ;) I can highly recommend Club Blue Room, for advice and a good range of decent skates. They really listen to you and are honest and helpful (my sales guy was anyway!). Also if you buy a pair of skates there you get a free skating lesson thrown in, and sometimes d...
