Re: Can't post pictures any more

If you don't want to mirror all of the data, couldn't just map the remote data folder to the local dir? Although it's not like the forum gets/stores much traffic nowadays...

Re: Cuffs?!

Whenever you need more refined control, it's usually best to tighten everything for increased support & responsiveness. With your boots loose, controlling your edges is harder - in slides you can compensate for this with speed, the position of your weight & increasing the angle of your boot ...

londonsantaskate 2011 - Lost & Found

Lost: iPod Nano ( Green, 5th Gen , label across the back saying " DOUGLET ") I noticed someone had managed to empty the contents of my bag (I suspect drunkenly rather than maliciously) when it was in the Smithfield, so presume it must have fallen out then. It was stored in the corner where...

Re: Taking sui-sides

I'd be well up for resurrecting the NTWNS. I was considering dropping into Phil's thing to test the waters again, but the last time I did one of these fake suicides (2008?), it was quite idle, stuck to the roads too much, and wasn't...well, very suicidal. I'm not that fit at the moment, but should b...

Re: Skate or cycle helmet?

Not that I know anything about helmets, but if you're falling backwards, your head shouldn't go anywhere near the floor - if it does, you're not bending your knees. From experience, my head has been most vulnerable when I've been catapulted over the front of my skates at high speed (skating backward...

Re: Modifying Salomon cross max boot??

I know a few people who have experimented with it, including myself.
It makes a small amount of difference in flexibility, but nothing game changing. Eventually the thin plastic bits of the cuff near the rivet tend to break anyway, effectively doing the same thing.

I fully expect to be told to shut up & just get used to it, but now you've switched the Post/User columns again my eyes are going all skew-if. What happened?

Re: Help: Seba FR1 stability

It's you. By all means, a longer wheel-base will provide you with more stability but it will also cost you maneuverability. Many people (& unless thigs have dramatically changed since I used to skate frequently, most people) freeskate on Seba's & other shorter framed skates, using 80mm wheel...

Re: Fair price for Salomon Crossmax

It's up to you & the kind of skating you want to do. Even in today's market, they're still a good, comfortable & rugged all round boot. I'd happily consider them if I was back on the market for a pair (bias alert - I've not owned anything else since the FSK range came out). If you want to be...
