That's not what I said. Regardless, I guess we're just going to disagree on this.

Re: Seba, what bugs me!!

@JB I was thinking of Sale or Return - the emphasis being on Seba to work at capitalising on the good will and gain market share not for CBR or Slick Willies to front the cost/risk for Seba's benefit. And where would CBR or Slick Willies store all these products? Skates take up a lot of room whilst...

Re: Seba, what bugs me!!

It seems that even the market in London is so small that it's not worth it for Seba to showcase one shop like Slick Willies or Club Blueroom with their range or at least 70% of it in the most common/saleable sizes. This isn't a rant, just surprising considering how highly people regard Seba. If I w...

Herb - don't take this the wrong way, but do you actually skate? It's just that people who like to talk and argue about skating as much as you are normally, well, not very good.

Re: Rock(er)ing this metropolis...

Interesting. Obviously you didn't learn them simply in order to even out wear. But I wonder how many other skaters do use their skills like this. I do, albeit not as much as I used to Same here. And I did actually learn them simply to avoid rotating wheels. Whilst it was a bit more effort to start ...

You want the World Peace Gate of Olympic Park. Also nearby is the Freewave shop (http://www.free-wave.co.kr/) and Captain Yang, who owns the place, speaks English so definitely go say hi.

I'm not sure that's right. Regardless, I wasn't talking about a beginner. I was merely correcting the statement that this move only works correctly on an outside edge.

Re: Stopping technique for confined space

Just to clarify, when I said you can easily do it on an inside edge, this was from experience rather than from having a think about it whilst sitting down in front of my computer.

Re: Stopping technique for confined space

Soul slide: http://youtu.be/TAfuGqcUDtU The video is of good quality but forgets to point out that the move will only work properly if you have the boot of the support leg on a slight outside edge. Have a look at the skater - that's what he does every time. So it's not relevant to the thread, but I...

Re: Powerslide S4

Thanks for that. Decisions decisions! the only major difference is the tongue, the 2011 is a neoprene affair thats contoured/moulded to fit the curve of the instep and accept quite nicely the wrap of the laces and middle strap.. the 2010 version is a sewn and normally padded design.. on my 2010's i'...

On a related note, is there a lot of difference between the 2011 and 2010 Evo?

Re: Ideal frames for slalom?

Some people say that for slalom, the frame is the most important part of the skate. There aren't many truly dedicated slalom frames on the market, but I'm curious as to what a completely slalom dedicated frame should look like. First, let's take a look at a standard 243mm freestyle frame. It can ho...

Re: Seba Trix

Jipe, those I know who skate with iGor, replace their skates every season due to worn out boots. Therefore, swmlon has a point here. One-piece boots like iGor are quite expensive to replace. And every material is going to wear out after usage. My Freewaves are taking much longer to wear out that my...

Actually, in downhill having a brake can hurt if you're having to drift round corners to scrub off speed.

it's a shame we've had to go through the process that basically now says that all recreational skaters are crap to get there, but so be it... But no one actually said that. Just as no one said all rec skates are crap. Have a re-read of the thread from the perspective that there are more levels of s...

I always wore a size 8 when my shoe size is 9-9.5. It was snug on my left foot and very snug on my right foot, as they are different sizes. I can't stand it when they get loose after a while!

Re: how to master parallel slide?

What's an edge stop? Like a hockey stop. The moves are fundamentally different though - a fast edge stop won't just turn into a parallel slide. So is this with inside leg (on the turn) leading? (e.g. if I turn left, my inside leg is the left leg). Because, as you've said, it definitely won't help. ...
